🛠️ How the Speedometer Noise Damper Works

The black gasket shown in the image is a precision-fit TPU noise damper designed to sit between the speedometer housing and the motorcycle’s mounting surface.

🔧 Installation & Fit (Based on Image)

• The damper follows the exact contour of the Honda VTX 1300 speedometer bezel.

• It wraps around the outer perimeter of the speedometer cluster.

• During installation, the gasket is placed:

  1. Around the speedometer housing.

  2. Between the chrome bezel and the mounting bracket/tank surface.

  3. Compressed slightly when bolts are tightened, creating a snug seal.

This compression is key — it fills micro gaps that cause vibration noise.

Motorcycle speedometers often produce buzzing or rattling due to:

• Engine vibration

• Plastic-to-metal contact between the gauge housing and mount

The damper solves this by:
